A High School diploma or GED is NOT required to take the State exam.
In the case of applicants with a criminal history, there are documents that you may be asked to submit to the Florida Board of Nursing.
We do not offer financial aid; however, we offer payment plans on most of our programs. For our NA prep training program, you may register online by paying the registration fee of $50.00, and the remaining balance of $299 will be due on the first day of class. Please see the student catalog for payment plan options. (please note that all registration fees are non-refundable).
Our NA 5-week course is a more comprehensive training program for students who require more time and practice. Students are required to pass an entrance exam and complete a 40-hour practicum. A high school diploma or GED is not required. Students must pass the State Exam to become a Nursing Assistant (NA).
Our NA Prep Exam Traning Course is an accelerated 1-week training course designed to accommodate students who might need a refresher course or those who know they can grasp information quickly. Students are not required to pass an entrance exam or complete a 40-hour practicum. A high school diploma or GED is not required. Students must pass the State Exam to become a Nursing Assistant (NA).
Students can not transfer into any of our programs.
The Level 2 fingerprinting, background checks, and State testing fees are paid directly to those agencies. The Level 2 fingerprinting and background fees average $90.00 and are renewed every five years. The State testing fee is $155.
Testing candidates are urged to complete a NA or NA exam prep training course before taking the State exam.
That's no problem; you will still be licensed in Florida when taking the Florida Nurse Aide exam.
We are licensed by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE), Florida Department of Education, and approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (BON) to offer NA courses. Regardless of the length of any NA program, you must take and pass the State exam to begin a career in healthcare as an FL licensed NA.
No, CPR is not included in our NA prep training course because some individuals are already CPR certified. We do, however, offer CPR training and certification for $65 for our students. Although CPR certification is not needed to sit for the State exam, CPR certification is required to work in a healthcare setting.
